Vero Group has applied to change the use of the ground floor of a building in Wellington Street.

The rest of the building, opposite Corporation nightclub, is already residential and occupied by students, while the offices are no longer in use.

The firm wants to create two cluster flats and five studio apartments.

The application says the change of use would ‘revitalite’ underused space.

It adds: “The proposed change of use will provide a modest contribution to the city’s housing land supply in a highly sustainable location with access to a variety of shops, services and infrastructure.”

A separate application to change the use of some office space to communal leisure rooms for residents has also been submitted.
