Emily Morton, chief executive of Disability Sheffield, said: “We provide support to disabled people in Sheffield and are all about breaking down barriers so that disabled people can live more independently.

”It’s really exciting to be shortlisted for the award which is showcasing the fantastic work the team does.

“We’re usually so busy doing what we do, that we don’t often get the chance to acknowledge the impact of our work.”

Councillor Jack Scott, cabinet member for community services and libraries at Sheffield City Council, said: “Disability Sheffield is one of Sheffield’s fantastic charities which is making a big difference to people’s lives. It’s great that they’re being recognised nationally and I hope they go on to win the award.
