Sheffield’s IBF world champion had wanted a big name in his sights BEFORE his last fight, against limited Canadian Kevin Bizier.

But promoter Eddie Hearn is still having difficulty nailing down one of the varying number of elite names on the radar.

Hearn has denied a story that Brook had turned down a US fight with Miguel Cotto saying they would: “walk to America to fight” the 45-bout veteran.

“We would fight Cotto in a heartbeat and you wouldn’t have to worry about the deal too much” said Hearn. “That would be a fight that blew his (Brook’s) profile out of the world, forget the money. That’s the perfect fight for Kell. The No 1 fight on our wish-list. If we ever turned down a Cotto fight I should retire.”

Hearn said he had also talked to Top Rank about Tim Bradley shortly after he had lost to Manny Pacquiao on April 9. “They said he needed time off. He’s more like August, September. We’re looking to go at the end of July, Lamont Peterson is ready to go, that is a good fight for Kell.” Hearn admitted Peterson, was not a top level name though.

“But he’s solid, he beat Amir Khan, he is an elite welterweight. The two fights we really want are Danny Garcia and Adrien Broner.

Broner hasn’t necessarily had a stellar career at welterweight but he’s a big name. It’s a fun fight.”

The promoter also told Sky Sports that Cotto and Danny Garcia were the “dream scenarios.

“Garcia in my opinion will fight Floyd Mayweather next, in September.

“That could rule him out of the equation, while he is waiting.

“Broner has indicated they might travel if you bring a huge pot of money with you, which is achievable,

“Tim Bradley is still a fight which me personally as a fight fan I’d love.”

A contest with Errol Spence Jnr would also happen in the future, he predicted.
