YOU might think it to be a place of sobriety.
But Sheffield Cathedral has announced that it will be hosting its first ever Cathedral Real Ale Festival, which will take place from October 19 to 21 in a large marquee located on the forecourt.
The festival will feature over 40 beers, perries and ciders available for people attending the event to taste.
Alongside the selection of ales from across Yorkshire, the event will also include three days of music performed on a stage within the festival marquee and children’s entertainment and activities.
The Beer Festival is the latest the Cathedral has hosted and managed over the last couple of years which has seen fashion shows, children’s drama performances, gala dinners and the hosting of one of the stages for Tramlines.
The Dean of Sheffield, the Very Reverend Peter Bradley, said: “The Cathedral has its own brewery for several hundred years, and it’s great to be working again with this important local industry. Come and try Yorkshire’s Champagne.”
