The A631 Tinsley Viaduct near Meadowhall, close to J34 of the M1, was closed by police last night after a car reportedly landed in the canal leading off from the River Don.

The incident has not yet been confirmed by police.

Today (June 6), nearby Sheffield Road, which runs alongside the canal, is partly closed. It is unknown if the closure is related to the incident.

Bus company First South Yorkshire warned passengers of the road closure.
