Sheffield boxers raise funds for heart charity

The event drew in hundreds of people to the Sheffield Works Department Sports and Social Club on Heeley Bank Road, who not only went to watch a boxing match but also the entertainment which followed.

There were also magicians, singers, street dancers and fire performers taking centre stage at the event, which was held on Saturday night.

Among the performers were well-known faces from ITV talent show Britain’s Got Talent including rapper Mr Zip, impersonator Stu Arnold and many more.

Mr Zip, whose real name is real name Zipparah Tafari, featured on the popular show in 2012 and become known for his catchy song ‘Where me keys, Where me phone’.

Multi-talented Stu Arnold, who called himself The Entertaininator, appeared on the show in 2011, taking on a range of personas - from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Keith Lemon.

The event Black Cat Boxing charity event was organised by Professional boxer Nicki Smedley.

A total of 24 amateur boxers took to the ring to do battle during the main six hour event.

Each of the boxers received 12 weeks of free coaching from professional boxing trainers at Manor Amateur Boxing Club in the run up to the event to prepare them for the Black Cat’ fight night

There was also an after party, which saw UB40 tribute band homegrown take to the stage to entertain sporting fans, along with backing dancers who have performed with singer Justin Beiber.
