Richard, who is an Alzheimer’s Society Celebrity Ambassador, said: “I lost my mum, Helen, to Pick’s disease, a rare form of dementia in September 2010 – she was only 64 years old. The support we received as a family from Alzheimer’s Society’s services in Sheffield was invaluable.

“As a proud ambassador for the charity, I’m delighted to be attending their Carols by Candlelight Christmas service in my hometown. The funds and awareness raised will make a big difference to the lives of so many families living with dementia.”

Tickets are £6 for adults, £10 for a combined ticket for a person with dementia and a carer, or £3 for children under 10.

Call 0330 333 0804.

The concert starts at 7.30pm.
