Sheffield-based hospice set to light up in memory of lost loved ones
One of the city's brightest and best loved events is set to return later this year to celebrate its milestone 21 years.
The Festival of Light has been run by St Luke's Hospice in the hospice grounds at Little Common Lane every year since 1997.
People are once again invited to join the St Luke's team in a light-filled celebration for the whole family when it returns on December 2.
St Luke's Director of Income Generation Kathryn Burkitt said: 'Each celebration is unique for me and also for the people who gather together in our garden to remember their loved ones.
'Every year we challenge ourselves to make the event bigger and better than ever and this year is no exception.
'Last year we were able to raise an incredible £54,000 during our Festival of Light celebrations and I wish to personally thank everybody for previously supporting our event.
'If you felt able to give another gift again we could make this year's Festival of Light the biggest and brightest yet, enabling us to care for more local patients and families when they need us most.'
The crowds will start to gather from 4.30pm to enjoy complimentary mulled wine, hot drinks and seasonal food.Â
Every person who attends is invited to take a light, decorate a candle bag in memory of a loved one and join in with carols
There will be music from Oughtibridge Brass Band and Sheffield Harmony Choir.
