Sheffield actor Dominic West and wife in show of unity after star pictured kissing Lily James
Sheffield born actor Dominic West and his wife Catherine Fitzgerald have declared ‘our marriage is strong and we're still very much still together’ after he was spotted kissing actress Lily James.
The pair posed for photos showing them cuddling outside their home near Cheltenham, Wiltshire – although West was pictured without his wedding while his wife kept her ring finger hidden in her jeans pocket.
With smiles on their faces, he and Catherine, 49, handed photographers a piece of paper, which repeated the words in his handwriting: 'Our marriage is strong and we're very much still together', with their signatures placed underneath.
The pair have been married since 2010 and the pair have four children.
However, West, 50, best known for playing Noah Solloway in Showtime drama, The Affair, was pictured in a passionate clinch with actress Lily James in Rome.
Last week, it was announced that Lily, 31, had split from Matt Smith, 37, for good following an on-off five year romance.
West and James are set to star in Emily Mortimer's adaptation of Nancy Mitford's celebrated novel The Pursuit Of Love for the BBC with filming beginning in July
They also starred together in Othello in 2011 at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre
He first returned home from his romantic break in the Italian capital on Monday night for a showdown with his wife after the photos emerged.
Born in Sheffield in 1969, he was brought up in the city, with many of his family still living in the area.
