Sheep shearing fun
Join Cannon Hall Farm, in Barnsley, this bank holiday weekend for bags of farm fun - as farmers will be shearing their sheep to prepare them for summer.
Alongside lots of new lovely little lambs and daily sheep talks, farmers at the family-run Cawthorne farm will be doing shearing demonstrations this Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the Roundhouse. Learn all about how sheep’s wool is used to make carpets and yarn and watch Farmer David shearing sheep. This activity is included with farm admission, so you can also spend the day visiting the animals, taking a tractor ride, and watching milking demonstrations.
