FAMILIES are being invited to Sheffield’s Whirlow Hall Farm for its annual Sheep Shearing Open Day.
The event is taking place on Sunday and visitors can learn more about sheep shearing and the production of wool and enjoy a family day out.
Attractions include donkey rides, a barbecue, spinning and weaving demonstrations, plus free craft-making sessions for the children and the rare opportunity to see the sheep losing their winter coats on the farm.
A spokeswoman for the farm, which is run as a registered charity, said: “All the proceeds will be used to help the farm’s work with the children of South Yorkshire.”
Tickets cost £2.50 for adults and £3 for children.
