Severed head murder trial is due to begin

A Sheffield man is due to stand trial on Monday for the murder of his girlfriend whose head was severed in the alleged attack.

Aras Hussein, aged 21, of Herries Road, Shirecliffe, Sheffield, is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court for the murder of 18-year-old Reema Ramzan in June last year. Police were called to an address on Herries Road, Shirecliffe, Sheffield, at around 5pm on Tuesday, 4 June, 2013.

A post-mortem examination found Miss Ramzan had suffered a severe knife attack resulting in fatal injuries.

Hussein denies the murder.
