seventY jobs have been created at one of Chesterfield’s newest superstores.
The Range, on Lordsmill Street, offers more than 65,000 products across 16 departments including DIY, homewares, furniture, lighting, arts and crafts and garden.
Chesterfield Council and Jobcentre Plus helped find suitable venues for the interviews and inductions which were part-funded by the council’s Working Neighbourhoods Fund in order to support unemployed people into the posts.
The Range recruited 70 employees from the two interview days, 16 of whom were local unemployed people claiming Job Seekers Allowance. A further five local unemployed people were offered work experience with a view of permanent employment if positions become available.
