A spokesman said: “With many people enjoying the Easter break the city centre was particularly busy over the weekend. Friday and Sunday nights, in particular, saw many thousands of people in the city centre enjoying a good time into the early hours. This unfortunately had some unpleasant outcomes for a small number of people and we have had 17 reports of assault over Friday to Monday.”

There were also 11 reports of criminal damage and a scooter stolen in Broomhall.
