MANAGERS of a new national helpline are urging South Yorkshire residents to contact them whenever they see anyone sleeping rough in the county.

The StreetLink Service has been launched as a point of contact for people if they know of someone sleeping on the streets.

A spokesman for the service said: “The longer someone sleeps rough the more vulnerable they are to becoming a victim of crime, drug, alcohol or health problems.”
