'Seriously harmful' weapon removed from Sheffield's streets

A weapon which police say could have caused serious harm has been taken off the streets of Sheffield.

The air pistol pictured above was seized by a PCSO today in Fox Hill.

The Sheffield west neighbourhood policing team said the gun was now safely in their possession and would soon be destroyed.

A police spokesperson said: "Weapons such as this have the potential to cause serious harm within our communities if they fall into the wrong hands or are misused.

"Everyone single one we remove counts.

"The information you pass will be treated in the strictest confidence."
