Serious collision causes traffic chaos on major Sheffield city centre road

The crash took place on St Mary’s Road near its junction with Shoreham Street shortly after 3pm this afternoon.

It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the collision but one badly damaged white Mercedes was later loaded on to a recovery truck.

Buses were diverted and traffic was stopped in the area for some time while debris was cleared but the road was reopened a short time ago.
