Senior manager posts at Derbyshire County Council will be removed as part of measures to cut £157 million from its budget.

The authority has agreed to lose 27 full-time jobs, saving £2.24 million over three years.

Coun Anne Western, council leader, said: “No-one likes cutting jobs but we need to make cuts due to reductions in Government grants, inflation and greater demands.

“We said we would start by getting our house in order, scrutinising spending, reviewing management and selling land.”
