Season over but games go on down at Bramall Lane

Sheffield United’s season may be over but football continues at Bramall Lane - with a packed programme over the next fortnight.

The stadium, which celebrates its 160th anniversary as a sporting venue next year, will be staging a number of special games before annual pitch renovations begin on May 19.

Operations director Dave McCarthy said: “We are delighted to help organisations in the community and charities through the use of the Bramall Lane pitch and the stadium facilities.”

Other games coming up include tonight’s Sheffield and Hallamshire County Football Association Cup Final between Joker (Rotherham) and Rawson Spring.

And on Friday Blades fans take to the pitch in teams led by club legends Georges Santos and Tony Currie.
