A MOUNTAIN biker sparked a four hour search after becoming lost in the dark in the Peak District.

The 30-year-old from Glossop was cycling on Bleaklow when he ran into difficulty at around 10.30pm on Saturday.

Members of Glossop and Kinder mountain rescue teams went out looking for him and after three hours called for search and rescue dogs and assistance from Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team, whose volunteers located him 40 minutes later.

He was uninjured and led off the moorland to safety.
