Search for driver after failing to stop for police in Barnsley

The driver of a green Ford focus is being sought after failing to stop for police in Thurnscoe, Barnsley.

Police attempted to pull the car over as part of a routine stop, because the driver had a brake light out.

But the driver failed to stop, and a police chase led to the vehicle being apparently abandoned.

It would appear that the driver fled his or her vehicle and fled on foot.

South Yorkshire Police are currently searching for the driver of the vehicle after the incident at about 8pm tonight (Tuesday).

South Yorkshire Police’s SY Ops Support tweeted: “Fail to stop. Excellent commentary by motorcycle cop. Enquiries ongoing to trace driver. Run but can’t hide.”
