The new search for the remains of missing Ben Needham enters its eleventh day today.

A South Yorkshire Police search team is excavating land around a farmhouse on the Greek island of Kos, where Ben, aged 21 months, was last seen alive in 1991.

The toddler was playing outside the farmhouse his grandfather was renovating when he vanished.

His family has always believed he was abducted but detectives are now investigating the theory that he may have been crushed and buried by a digger working nearby at the time.

The digger driver died last year but a friend contacted the police over the summer to suggest what may have happened.

Ben's family has been warned to 'prepare for the worst'.

Ben's grandfather, Eddie Needham, 68, visited the excavation site yesterday and spoke to detectives about what he remembers from the day Ben disappeared.
