A scooter, screwdriver and knife were seized after a police chase though a Sheffield estate.

Officers started following the scooter yesterday after spotting two males in balaclavas riding around Parson Cross.

The rider and passenger jumped off during the chase and managed to escape.

When officers examined the scooter they found a screwdriver and knife.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "As the scooter was incapable of going faster than 10mph, the two males decided they had a better chance of getting away on foot and unfortunately made good their escape.

"On recovering the bike, a screwdriver and a multi-tool complete with locking knife were found and seized.

"If you have any information as to the owner of the scooter or those that were riding on it, please get in touch."
