School to send gifts to Africa

Have your say

A NORTH Derbyshire secondary school is urging people to donate unwanted Christmas presents to charity.

Bolsover School is hoping gifts can be sent to its two partner schools in Gambia – Kuntaya Senior Secondary School and Jamisa Yiriwa Nursery School.

The school is particularly keen to send bikes to be used by children attending the schools.

Members of Bolsover Town Safer Neighbourhood Team are helping out at a maintenance day at the school in January before all the donated bikes are shipped to Africa.

The maintenance day will be held at the school on Saturday, January 7 between 10am and 2pm.

Anyone wanting to donate a bike or unwanted Christmas gift can take it along to the school on the day.
