A SENSORY garden is to be created for school youngsters after two groups received a cash boost.

Bradwell C of E Infant School is to transform a disused area into the garden, to attract wildlife and to be used as a study area to teach pupils, thanks to the £350 grant from Derbyshire County Council.

Another £500 has been given to Rhubarb Farm in Langwith, which helps people with learning difficulties, unemployed people, ex-offenders and people with mental and physical ill-health to develop their skills and find jobs.

Its money will be used to build a path through a wildlife area which will include an outdoor classroom, pond, wildflower meadow and a wildlife hide.

The money was handed out in the latest round of the Derbyshire Greenwatch Action Grants scheme. To apply for a grant call 08456 058 058.
