School's pride as Sheffield pupil never has day off in seven years

A studious pupil who has attended school for seven years without a single day off has been rewarded for his achievement.

Archie Bamforth has 100 per cent attendance since starting at Brunswick Community Primary School, in Woodhouse.

The lover of learning has not missed a single day of classes – from the moment he joined reception class to the end of year six.

The 11-year-old was presented with a bike by headteacher Neil Frankland during a special assembly.

Other children who had impressive attendance were also given rewards.

Pupil clerk Joy Watford said: "Not having a day off in seven years is an amazing achievement."

NRC Services donated the bike as a reward for Archie.
