EXTENDING zig-zag School Keep Clear lines to a second entrance to a village primary school would be a ‘waste of money’, a meeting heard.
Treeton Parish Council has decided not to ask Rotherham Council for the zig-zag lines to be put on the road outside the entrance to the school from Bradshaw Avenue, because councillors feel they would be ‘ignored’.
Coun John Swift, parish council chairman, said mothers taking and collecting their children from Treeton Primary School already ignored the existing zig-zag lines outside the main entrance in Wood Lane.
He said: “The proposed new zig-zag lines in Bradshaw Avenue would be a complete waste of money because the mothers would just ignore them like they do on the road outside the main entrance.”
He called on parents to walk their children to school.
