A SCHOOL kitchen has been transformed with innovative changes - including ambient music on demand.
Youngsters at Sheffield’s City School can also enjoy restaurant-style loyalty deals and healthy meals.
The school, which also has a new building, drafted in catering manager Jim Davis to run the food service last year.
He joined forces with the Children’s Food Trust, who carried out a review to identify which areas deserved top marks and which areas they needed to try harder in.
The school council was also able to take part and its feedback, plus comments from other pupils at the school, in Stradbroke, was incorporated in the changes.
Jim said: “My biggest lesson was to realise that your students are essentially your customers.”
