School girl flown to hospital by air ambulance after being struck by coach in Sheffield
A school girl was flown to Sheffield Children's Hospital by air ambulance after she was in collision with coach in the city.
It is believed the girl suffered a suspected broken leg and minor head injuries in the incident which involved a coach from Central Travel. The smash happened at 3.45pm on Thursday, March 9 on Manchester Road, in Broomhill. An air ambulance landed at the Endcliffe student village to take the girl to hospital. Police also sealed the road off while they conducted an investigation.Managing director of Central Travel, Paul Harrison, aged 58, said: “We are thankful it’s not life threatening; mechanical items can be replaced, people’s live cannot.” Resident Colin Leafe, aged 62, of Tapton Crescent Road, said: “This type of thing always happens on this stretch of road. There have unfortunately been many people knocked over."
