THREE outstanding students have won a top scholarship to help them make an impact in their academic field.
The Sheffield University humanities graduates were chosen for the Wolfson postgraduate dcholarship as they embarked on their three-year doctoral studies.
Together the scholarships are worth £75,000.
The university has matched the scholarships funded by the Wolfson Foundation by supporting three further students who also study history, literature or languages.
Professor Andrew Linn, director of research and innovation in the arts and humanities, said: “At a time when funding for postgraduate work is difficult to find, this is an incredibly valuable investment in the continued strength in these disciplines in this country.”
The foundation promotes excellence in science, health, education and humanities.
