Saving ghost-hunter's sole

THIS is well scary.

Newsagent assistant Victoria Hopkinson of Low Common Farm Renishaw recently paid 112 for a pair of wellies.

But why did she pay so much for wellies she could buy elsewhere for about a fiver?

Simple.

These were once worn by ghost-hunter Derek Acorah of TV's Most Haunted fame, and Victoria is his biggest fan.

She said: "They were up for auction on his fan-club website and all the proceeds were going to charity, so I had to have them.

"But I can't wear them. They're eights and I only take a six."

Victoria, who works at Newbury News in Chesterfield Road, Dronfield will be going to see her hero at Sheffield City Hall on February 6.

Then she's off to see him again two days later, when he puts on a show in Grimsby.

"I just think he's amazing," says Victoria.

Her home is packed with signed pictures, posters and other Derek Acorah artefacts.

"But I'm not possessed or obsessed by him."
