Save cash at shops with cycling card

Discounts at Sheffield stores and cafes are being offered to cyclists in a new reward scheme.

Dozens of businesses have signed up to the Sheffield Cycleboost Ride Rewards project to offer riders reduced prices and other special offers.

Many of them are cafes, such as Sharrow Marrow in Sharrow Vale, Our Cow Molly ice cream parlour in Dungworth and Endcliffe Park cafe, to help cyclists refuel after tackling the city’s hills.

The Burton Street Foundation in Hillsborough gives away free cake or buns with every hot drink.

Operations manager Claire Mopping said: “We have a number of staff who cycle to work and we are keen for our staff and clients to eat healthily, as well as live a healthy lifestyle.

“The Ride Rewards scheme is a great incentive to encourage people to get out by bike and boost local shops in your area.”

To get the reward card, cyclists must be part of the Cycleboost cycling support service, have signed up for a skills or maintenance course, or be part of a cycling club or organisation.
