LOCAL Pets at Home stores will be running their Santa Paws appeal to help ensure that South Yorkshire’s abandoned animals aren’t forgotten this Christmas.
From tomorrow until Christmas Eve, staff at the Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham stores will be encouraging customers to buy an extra gift or make a donation to benefit a needy pet at local animal rescue centres around the county.
Customers can also choose to take part in the ‘round up to a £1’ initiative, where they opt to round up the cost of their purchases to a £1. The difference is then donated to local animal rescue centres.
Santa Paws is run by the charity Support Adoption For Pets.
The charity has raised more than £1.65 million in the past 12 months.
