A NEW safety campaign has been launched to help keep motorcyclists safe on South Yorkshire’s roads.

Riders are being urged to fill in their personal profiles on special fliers aimed at making motorists think about other road users and to leave them in public places including pubs, places of work and gyms.

It forms part of the Someone’s Son road safety campaign, after recent research revealed that motorists who know a biker are less likely to be involved in a collision with a motorcycle.

Jon Torn, of South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service who is responsible for motorcycle safety in the county, said: “There is a road safety issue around drivers not always seeing motorcycles.”
