A RUNNING club in South Yorkshire has almost reached a £5,000 charity fundraising target after holding a 24-hour relay race.
Members of Barnsley Harriers have raised the sum for Children In Need, with dozens of runners completing multiple six-mile legs during the relay.
The race started and finished from the club’s base at the Shaw Lane Club, and a Pudsey Bear was escorted the full length of the 150-mile course.
Almost all of the club was involved in the event, either running, organising or raising sponsorship.
Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis, who recently collected an MBE award, accompanied the group which crossed the finish line at the end of the 24 hours.
