• SHEFFIELD Wednesday want to hijack Graham Kavanagh's proposed switch to Leeds by promising him regular Championship football, says The Mirror.

• CHELSEA have rejected suggestions that the club's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich offered Russia's players 40,000-a-man to beat England.

• STELIOS, who turned down a move to Sheffield United last month, insists he will not be forced out of Bolton and has vowed to win back his first-team place, reports The Sun.

• LIVERPOOL will bring in two other high profile players in January - Micah Richards + 2 million for Peter Crouch and Pasquel Foggia for 10.5 million, reports a fans' forum.

• A 28-year-old man arrested by police investigating corruption in football was yesterday released on bail.

A City of London Police spokesman said the man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud.

• IT is rumoured that Peter Crouch will leave Liverpool for Manchester City or Portsmouth for a fee of about 11 million in the January transfer window.
