• A FOOTBALL rumours website says Newcastle and Man United will both battle it out for the signature of Scott Brown from Celtic. Newcastle will bid up to 12 million to get him as they see him as an integral part of their midfield plans.

• FORMER Arsenal skipper Thierry Henry reckons the Gunners will play more as a team without him, reports The Daily Star. The France international signed for Barcelona in June for 16 million, after ongoing speculation linking him with the Spanish giants.

• ROMAN Abramovich has handed Avram Grant 10 million to bring Ronaldinho and Kaka to Stamford Bridge, reports various national papers.
