Rubbish cost woman £287

A WOMAN is nearly £300 worse off after allowing an unlicensed waste carrier take away her household rubbish.

Six black bags of household waste belonging to 24-year-old Suzanne Hill were found dumped on Green Lane, Worsbrough, by wardens of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team

Hill, of Colley Crescent, Kendray, had given a total of 20 black bags of household waste away to a man who had come knocking door-to-door asking for scrap metal.

Hill said she did not realise she had to ask for proof of a waste carrier’s licence before giving away her rubbish.

Barnsley magistrates fined her 110 with 177.36 in costs.
