Rowers’ charity challenge

Have your say

A GROUP of fitness enthusiasts rowed across the Atlantic Ocean without leaving dry land – and raised £1,365 for South Yorkshire dementia charity Lost Chord.

Inspired by the annual Atlantic Ocean Rowing Race, which saw a flotilla of 17 boats taking on the elements in an adventure that took 75 days to complete, members of Greens Health Club and Sheffield Rowing Club took on a similar challenge without getting wet.

They were raising money for Lost Chord, a charity that provides interactive musical experiences for people living with dementia in care homes and days centres, and also for research into Huntingdon’s Disease.
