COMPANIES are being offered the chance to have their names displayed at some of Sheffield’s most prominent sites - after the council launched a drive to encourage organisations to sponsor key roundabouts, junctions and roadsides.
Sheffield Council has more than 100 locations where it allows sponsors to add their names to existing signs, or have custom-made boards erected bearing their logo.
Sponsorship deals have been agreed for a fifth of available sites and the council is appealing more firms to sign up.
Available sites include key roundabouts in the city centre, along the Sheffield Parkway, entrances to local districts, and locations on main roads crossing the city boundary.
The council’s Street Force service, which manages the scheme, said it wants “leading organisations associated with Sheffield” to participate, and that the scheme is a “unique opportunity to be seen to be involved in the enhancements within the area”.
