Round hound Holly, from Monk Bretton, Barnsley, is hoping to be one of PDSA’s biggest losers as she passes the halfway point in the charity’s pet slimming competition.
Rottweiler Holly is one of 11 pets chosen by the veterinary charity to take part in its annual PDSA Pet Fit Club, a six-month diet and fitness challenge.
Holly began competing in the fat-fighting competition last December after being nominated by her owner Pamela Rymer. A visit to PDSA confirmed fears their beloved - but spoilt - pet was carrying too many pounds.
When she started the Pet Fit Club Holly tipped the scales at 53kg. Now, halfway through the diet, she is slowly edging closer to her ideal weight of 35kg.
Pamela said: “We’ve stuck to the diet exactly. Her weight is slowly dropping.”
