Rotherham's housing services on the move

Rotherham residents wanting housing advice from the town council need to go to Riverside House from Friday, rather than the Old Town Hall.

The council’s Key Choices Service, which provides advice on housing options as well as support to prevent homelessness, is moving tin a bid to provide a one stop shop.

Customers will be able to access all the same services previously provided at the Old Town Hall plus extras including housing benefit services and the option to pay rent using a self-service booth.

Rotherham Council’s Advisory Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Emma Wallis, said: “The move will mean that all housing services will be located together.

“This will be much more convenient for customers who will be able to access all services in a single visit. The environment is spacious and welcoming too, and staff will be on hand to help people find what they need.”

To coincide with the move new council tenants who sign up to a new home will be invited into the library area in Riverside to view a tenancy agreement video which tenants and staff have been involved in producing.

The video explains all the key points new tenants need to know before they move.
