Rotherham volunteers are urged to bid for community clean-up cash

Rotherham voluntary groups keen to clean up their neighbourhoods have the chance to bid for a grant worth up to £250.

The ‘Improving Your Community’ grants are to pay for schemes such as adopting a street or pocket park.

Steve Ruffle, of the Rotherham Federation of Tenants and Residents, said: “Community groups and volunteers are already doing some fantastic projects on their estates.

“This grant will help celebrate and extend some of the excellent activities already happening.”

To apply, representatives must attend a briefing at Springwell Gardens Community Centre on January 30. Book a place by emailing or calling RotherFed on 01709 368 515.
