The Millers have been tracking the Brighton midfielder for several weeks.

And today they finally landed their man when the 22-year-old agreed a season-long loan deal at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

“Jake is a very talented footballer,” Stubbs said.

“He is one we have been trying to get done for a number of weeks now. It has took a little bit of time but I am pleased that we have managed to eventually get it over the line.”

Forster-Caskey becomes Rotherham’s third pre-season signing, after winger Anthony Forde and goalkeeper Lewis Price.
