The Slovakian stopper played a huge part in last season’s promotion-winning campaign.

And a return to the AESSEAL New York Stadium was finally confirmed on Wednesday after weeks of speculation.

With parent club Fulham selling David Button to Brighton, Rodak and the Millers had to wait for the Cottagers to bring in another keeper for the youngster to become available.

Rodak was at the top of Paul Warne’s summer shopping list and became the sixth addition to his squad.

The 21-year-old has played a full part in Fulham’s pre-season schedule and is ready for the step up to Championship football this term, which represents logical natural progression after time in League Two with Accrington Stanley and last season's run in League One with the Millers.

And he said: “Straight after last season I spoke to the gaffer and said I’d love to come back here and I’m pleased it happened.

“It’s taken a little while, but I’m really happy to be back especially after last season.

“I think I’m ready for the Championship, 100 per cent. I’ve played at nearly every level and each season I’ve progressed higher. This is just another step in my career.

“I don’t think there will be a big difference from what we faced last season to this season.”

Rodak would have preferred to return to Rotherham early in the window, despite the daunting task of the Austrian hill climbs.

However, he got crucial game time on Slavisa Jokanovic’s watch and added: “I played three games, it was quite hard to be fair. The enjoyable part of the season starts now.

“Paul Warne’s just as delighted as I am and we’re just disappointed it didn’t happen a bit earlier.

“I’d have preferred for it to happen earlier so I could be a part of pre-season, but it is what it is.”
