Smith, who was out of contract at the end of the season, has agreed terms that will run until June 2022 while Proctor has extended until 2021.

Smith's three-and-a-half-year contractl is reward for his impressive contribution to the Millers' success since joining from Bury in January.

The 26-year-old was a key player as Paul Warene's men went on to win promotion from League One, scoring six goals in 23 appearances, and has again been the focal point of the attack this season, though he has not got the goals his play has deserved.

Smith, playing at Championship level for the first time, is now contracted at AESSEAL New York Stadium until beyond his 30th birthday.

Boss Warne has also shown faith in Proctor, whose first season at the club was wrecked by a serious knee injury.

The 26-year-old suffered cruciate ligament damage in just his sixth appearance last August and made his comeback only at the start of this campaign. At the moment, he is sidelined by a groin injury.
