The capture of the 32-year-old, whose previous clubs include Charlton Athletic, West Brom, Crystal Palace and Leeds United, is the first deal to be done by new boss Neil Warnock who took over last Friday.

Thomas, who came through the ranks at Arsenal, is likely to be in the Millers squad for Saturday’s Championship clash at Burnley.

He has been training with the club for more than a fortnight and played for the reserves in last week’s 2-0 defeat against Notts County.

Thomas, who can play as a left winger or as a striker, has been a free agent since leaving Palace at the end of last season.

He made league 103 appearances for the Addicks and 99 for the Baggies.

The Londoner's games in the top flight came with West Brom and Palace.
