Rotherham United fans will pay tribute to a fellow supporter who died prior to last weekend’s South Yorkshire derby with a minute’s silence.

John Fearns was taken ill before kick-off between the Millers and Sheffield Wednesday at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday.

The season ticket holder later died in hospital.

A Club spokesman said: “Everyone at Rotherham United was deeply saddened to learn of John’s death. The club will be requesting a minute’s silence to be held prior to the game with Brighton and Hove Albion in his honour.”

Fans can lay flowers by turnstile 12 outside the KCM Recycling North Stand.
