Rotherham Town Hall throws doors open

Rotherham Town Hall will throw its doors open to the public next month, to give visitors a glimpse into the history of the town.

Rotherham Mayor, Coun Maggi Clark, will host the Open Day on Thursday February 11, showing members of the public around some of the historic rooms from 10am to 3pm, where council decisions are made daily.

As well as the tours of the building, there will also be chance to have morning coffee or afternoon tea with the Mayor, who will take the time to answer any questions about what goes on behind the scenes.

The Mayor of Rotherham, Coun Maggi Clark, said: “Everyone at the Town Hall is looking forward to welcoming Rotherham residents and their families to our open day.

“If you’ve ever wondered what happens in the Council Chamber or even wanted to sit in one of the ‘hot seats’ yourself – now’s your chance. Or you may want to take a trip down memory lane and revisit the place where you got married.

“There’ll be lots of useful information about council services as well as a chance to look round and find out about the history of the Town Hall and what we do here. I hope you can all make it.”
