Rotherham Titans ace warns team mates of tough test against his old club in relegation battle

The outcome of the clash will be watched keenly by one player in particular-Rotherham centre Will Owen who joined the Titans from Moseley in the summer after two seasons in the West Midlands.

Owen, 22, would love to be playing but misses the match as he steps up his recovery from a serious knee injury suffered against his old club at home in October.

Indeed, since he signed for Rotherham, Owen has played in only four league games and has been out of action for four months. However, he expects to make his come-back against Ealing next weekend in the re-arranged match in the British and Irish Cup at Clifton Lane.

“The game is going to be tricky. They are a gritty team who finish games strongly and they’ve beaten us twice in the Cup this season.

“Rotherham must get points early doors. I am sure that we will survive in the Championship. In our recent matches, we’ve scored good tries against the best teams in the league and we can cause sides a lot of hassle with our breaks.

“ We know that we are not the biggest side in the Championship and teams do exploit our lack of size, but once the firmer pitches are here, we have the speed to go around teams and I am sure we can pick up a few wins.”
